Artist's Description
The Mississippi State Monument in Gettysburg Pennsylvania. This monument was created by the sculptor Donald DeLue and dedicated on October 19, 1973.
It represents a color-bearer (who has fallen mortally wounded) and his comrade who steps over his body using his musket as a club in defense of the fallen flag.
